5 stars Now, that's more like it. Here we have a truly inspired JETHRO TULL album coming out right after a string of questionable releases. Songs from the Wood is a perfect example of experimental rock and folk coming together into inseperable harmony. One of the things that strikes me about this album is how much care was put into the compositions. It feels complete, diverse, and completely new. It is not simply derivative of their earlier work, but pushes new boundaries, and goes into new directions that were new for JT. I believe, however, that the Aqualung audience will appreciate this album more so than the Thick as a Brick audience, but that is a huge generalization. Highly recommended!
