4 stars If you have never heard Gryphon before, you should probably start with their acknowledged masterpiece 'Red Queen To Gryphon Three'. If you have heard RQtGT and you are wondering if any of the other albums come close to that level, well, in my opinion, this is the closest. The opening epic tune is very engaging in a folky instumental way. Lots of non-traditional insturments you almost never hear anywhere except for on a Gryphon album. 'The Ploughboy's Dream' is similar to the vocal folk tunes you will find on Gryphon's first album. It is a nice song but not really progresssive. The rest of the album is filled with more instrumental folky tunes that are not quite as strong as the opener but still very good. Overall this is a very good prog folk album. 4 solid stars.
