5 stars A masterpiece by Pink Floyd, commercially the most successfully and critical acclaimed as one of the best of all time. It is a thematic album that talks about the things that make people mad and also about mental illness, taking some inspiration for the problems of their ex-member Syd Barret. The music is perfectly executed, all the song present the classical song of the golden era of Pink Floyd, using more heavy, hard rock and eclectic prog elements combined with their space prog style. Different to their style in past albums, pink floyd floyd took more attention to the lyrics of the songs, and However, although they are not so deep, they accompanied well the concept of the album. It is very impressive how the quality of the songs is equally good during all the album. What is more prominent in this album is the keyboard passages, and in the other hand the appearance of Sax improvisations and different voices give it a extra appeal. Undoubtedly, a masterpiece that anybody must have.
