5 stars Ah, that beautiful point in time when Tangerine Dream began to shift from sequencer heavy soundscapes to a more layered, harmonized sound. After the release of Phaedra and Rubycon, TD solidified themselves as a serious electronic act. It wasn't until 1975's "Ricochet" did they really begin to experiment and find a more unique sound, which would prove to be a precursor to many modern electronic music sub-genres (I.E. Electronica). Although TD still frequently used sequencers in their incredibly long career, this album marked a departure from them predominantly featured throughout the entire piece and shifted toward a more electronic rock feel. If you like Phaedra and the other Virgin years albums, even if you love the Krautrock-esque albums, this album quenches every thirst you're looking for. And it's a live album! Set 2 just gets me every time.

5 out of 5. Essential electronic progressive music. 2nd favorite album behind only Force Majeure.
