I also find it intersting that the John Elephante albums are panned. I like STEVE WALSH as much as anyone and KANSAS was the band that got me interested in 'Prog' anyway. JOHN does a perfectly good job with the vocals. The song writing is obviously toward a Christian bent as a lot of Kansas stuff was. So, I understand why that may turn off some. As a former Christian I have mixed feelings. I had heard that Mr. WALSH parted with the band because of the more spiritual lyric anyway. Mr. LIVGREN experimented with some 'Christian' bands during this era and it was well known that ELEFANTE was of this leaning also. I've heard lots of very preachy Christian rock, this hardly qualifies. In my opinion as a non-expert, non-musician, just a music fan, I love this CD. PHIL EHARDT is one of my favorite drummers and I've always loved the STEINHARDT violin work. I like the way the music builds up and climaxes through the songs on this album as well as DRASTIC MEASURES. I enjoy this music each time I spin it, it has great atmosphere and dynamics I like with enough pop hook to keep it from becoming tiresome. I recommend it.
