4 stars I bought this album already back in '86. At that time the only song I knew from Kansas was 'Dust in the wind'. When you hear the album in such a state, you cannot really imagine it is the same band. However the most recognizable sound, the vocal, is still the same. For the album as a whole, it is to my opinion a well succeeded mix of (mid-)tempo songs and ballads with excellent guitar play. I like the tempo songs as. especially "Power" and "Three Pretenders" for their drive, the ballad for the well heard teardrops. For me the album for sure is not too poppy or whatever. Listen for example to "we're not alone anymore" with its nice rytyim section breaks, guitar breaks and keyboard breaks. In all the years the album becomes a turn every now and then and I never had the feeling it became boring or even predictable.
