5 stars 1985 a great year! A concept that will ignite rock forever!

1. Pseudo Silk Kimono here we go.. one if not the best prog intro... which is not dead, synth, spleen guitar, marshmallow bass, Fish which puts the boat in the water to take us far, far; 2. Kayleigh arrives, Ian too, let's go, I see their performance at Lorelei again here, the atmosphere of the uncompromising music and a radio edit, incredible in fact; yes, some won't know that Marillion released a 40-minute concept album there, the world is too cruel, but already Steve is releasing one of the devastating solos that will make a mark; we are off to their lands; the bass a tad floydian for the snub to the detractors of good zik and Mark indicates that we go to 3. Lavender and this basic arpeggio piano that smashes your head, Fish goes up a notch and demonstrates that the frontman is essential in a prog band, he holds the boat and lets the musicians have fun, he doesn't sclerize them like in the H era 4. Bitter Continuation of a hit with this drum roll and the cymbals, Steve making his strings cry, AC/DC bells... I'm going far but I will always remember the attraction of hardos for Marillion , snubbed by his own family at the start... a hovering synth for the break that will mark more than one of us; gigantic, masterful, incredible at the time, I would have liked that to also be broadcast on the radio, but you shouldn't ask too much of it; the daggerboard sails away, the solo returns in force, well attached to the bow; we already feel the end of the 1st episode, yes a title with drawers but only one title, stunning this misplaced, bewitching, indescribable caviar and the solemn piano that makes you shiver 5. Heart of Lothian entangled which restarts the boat with the anthem wide boy howled, this heart of Lorian which beats violently; all of Marillion is there, the musicians together, the singer who inspires even more, who is there like the 5th instrument, not leading with his own musicians; the turn of this piece with this end that continues with silence, I get up I'm going to put side 2 6. Dark Waterhole but already Ian hits us for this second movement; I have trouble, I listen, it's a sound that doesn't look like them, anyway they won't be able to do better than what my ears are still ringing 7. Lords of the Backstage continues, in fact one could believe in a second verse, it goes up, it's more jerky, it's not bad in fact, too much Fish anyway... I contradict myself and... 8. Blind Curve arises with the divine solo, the one that makes you say no but it's good, say that I almost doubted; 5 drawers will be linked in this progressive title to the max; ah Steve and his killer solo, yes he does as well or even better than on the 1st side, incredible; the Banks-style synth, yes I feel Genesis and that reassures me a bit; Fish lets his voice unfold over an orchestral moment, he doesn't attack, he surfs on... the wave, he stays quiet in front of his friends; he supports them; good the second break of the album, a bit of guitar looking for its notes, voices in the distance, the bass, ah that bass, ah that roll of drums, ah that spleen sound... I'm silent; childhood, childhood, and it starts again, Mark responds to Steve and vice versa; not bombastic, just majestic, you feel strong going down the Gorges de la Fou after defeating them and returning to the car at 70°, having feared that Marillion's K7 was melted; ah the first son Jonathan who is safe in my arms, as he looked like him when he was little... but I digress from the chronicle 9. Childhoods End? yes the title which arrives... I recall that all is chained, diabolically progressive in fact; the sound therefore like an explosive finale, to make a 14th of July so beautiful; another solo from Steve, one more step, the sound confused, it feels like Kayleigh again, time has contracted, made a time loop? 10. White Feather for the second finale, like this tune that reminds me of a Simple Minds piece from the same year, like what prog is everywhere; military drum, notes you want some here and the ears that still can't believe it, huge I tell you.
