3 stars Wobbler. A type of lures which in particular attracts pikes.

It is my understanding that this is a collection of left-over stuff from ten years back and inbetween. I have not heard Hinterland yet, so I am kind of doing this review blindfolded. But the music on Afterglow is a blend of the best of the 1970s, with some strong references to the likes of King Crimson, especially Gentle Giant, Genesis and Yes. But in particular, they sounds like Anglagard with it's strong references to dark folk music. Two of the tracks here are loosely based on some Norwegian folk music pieces. The rest is epic symphonic prog with some references to the classic music composers Edvard Grieg and Johan Halvorsen.

The quality is very good throughout. Imperial Winter White is a great epic. But I feel a bit short changed with this album being presented as a new album when it in reality is something else. It is therefore just a taster before I go onto the main meal; Hinterland. But Afterglow is a very good album in it's own right. We want more from Wobbler.
