The Block
3 stars This defiantly shows the skill of Miles Davis and the rest of his back up band. It is a total instrumental piece that sounds lke it is one song exept for a couple songs. The second to last song, Lament, is one of the better songs on this album with a full orchestra in the background and then him and one other guy playing a duet in the middle. Also the song New Rhumba starts out with the whole band playing a couple notes than Mr. Davis plays the same thing back at them creating a wave of sound. Then it progresses into a huge solo that shows why Mr. Davis is one of the best. If you are into this kind of music I would defiantly recommed this, and even if you aren't it is a good place to start and then widen your views into symphonic prog. Overall this album isn't bad, 3/5 stars.
