3 stars i gave this album three stars only beacuse i can't bare to give a gabriel album 2 stars. i mean this albums has some terrifying lows such as "the barry williams show" but let's take it from the start. this album opens with "darkness" one of the best gabreil composition in years. it reminds me of his 3 album beacuse of the frantic mood swings but it also shows that gabriel has litsened to what bends like radiohead has been doing this past 10 years. at this point the litsener fills like he's about to imbark on an advanture but before he gets to exited comes "growing up" which is a decent "so"or "us" pop song. then comes "sky blue" which is quite moving, a gentle ballad. no way out is a song that doesent really goes anywhere. "i grieve" is a very good song, it approches death in a uniqe way and shifts from deeprssing funeral music to an almost "ska" song.

on "My Head Sounds Like That" the experimental gabriel returnes to offer us a nice mellody which unfortunatlly is not inaf to make us forget the horrors of "barry williams show" which precided it. "more then this" is another half baked song with a nice "sting like" chours. "signal to noise" is a very strong track, with an amazing guest appearence by "ali khan". "the drop" is the best song in this album, peter sings gently over soft piano notes, he sounds a little bit like neil young on this one.
