FROM LAND TO OCEAN

Again I find myself agreeing with much of what fellow reviewer James Lee has to say about an album, although I'll be more blunt: I find "From Land To Ocean" formulaic and essentially bland. However, unlike James, I do find Göran Fors' accent distracting and would rather he had sung in his native Swedish. Actually, to be honest, I'd rather listen to the music - unmemorable as I find much of it - without any singing at all. I find some of the English lyrics rather laboured, sometimes corny, and sometimes just jarring grammatically. I can see that the music on this album could appeal to fans of bands such as PALLAS and IQ (and, no, that is *not* intended to be supercilious). Popular as it may be to many lovers of neo-Prog music, this 2-CD release does nothing at all for me so I'll go with 2 stars (Collectors/fans only).
