5 stars After the very strange Deliverance/Damnation duo, Opeth went for a more compact album. Ghost Reveries is regarded by many people as a masterpiece. I do think there's some great moments in this album.

Ghost Of Perdition (5/5): I hate when the best song from the album is the first one, because everything after it will be worse in someway. Very dynamic track, not repetitive. Features soft vocals and growls managed well.

Baying Of The Hounds (4/5): Good song although there's some overextended sections all around it, like the one before minute 9:00. Nice riffs, but the song isn't too cohesive and ends up feeling messy.

Beneath The Mire (3/5): A minor track from the album, I don't care much about it. Has a nice clean vocal middle section and the ending (before the fade out) is pretty good.

Atonement (2/5): Really boring and uninspired track, works as a good break from the heavy tracks before, however.

Reverie/Harlequin Forest (4/5): Another good track, although sometimes it repeats itself too much, like the first three minutes and the last two minutes. Great clean middle section, but the rest of the song is pretty average. Not a very surprising track.

Hours Of Wealth (3/5): Beautiful track, but there isn't that much to it. Nice acoustic guitar solo at the end.

The Grand Conjuration (2/5): One of Opeth's worst +10 songs. Incredibly repetitive, overextended, uninteresting and boring.

Isolation Years (5/5): A beautiful closer that ends the album surprisingly well. Good chorus.

Five Stars. Big fan of it.
