5 stars I think it's one of those albums with a stigma from the time it was released. Like Yes' "Tormato" - first album without long track and it was a dissapointment many fans can't forgive untill this day instead of judging it on it's own merits. Well, Tangerines with vocals and drums wasn't expected by their fans back then and many seem to hold the grudge against it. I admit It took me some time to get used to the idea, as I wasn't prepared for the TD new sound nor was I expecting them to seek for it. But as You can see from my rating I now consider it one of their best albums and part of the golden era. It was bold move to reinvent themselves like that. The band tried fresh waters (at least for them) and according to my ears, they succeded. I love what they did here. I like expressive vocals, rocking drums and fabulous flute touches here and there. It is probably their closest attempt to "standard" progressive rock. All the novelties aside, there is still much of the unmistakable TD sound to love like almost trance-inducing repetitions. Good job TD!
