4 stars Far more intelligent PA contributors than me have written long, very informative reviews about this album so I will be pretty brief.

This is one of those ultimate rock'n'roll albums which makes this planet such a nice place to be. From the opening riffs of this album, which accidently is some of the most famous riffs ever to the last tone; this is a feast of stadium filling rock'n'roll. The music is still rooted in blues. But harder rock'n'roll is also being introduced. The difference between this album and the debut album is the quality of songs here. Most of them are excellent. The only stain on this album is the pretty hopeless throw-away song Living Loving Maid. The rest is superb high octane hard rocking stuff. Led Zeppelin had yet to write any mellow stuff so this is their most hard rocking album. This one of those great rock'n'roll albums and one that established Led Zeppelin as the best ever rock'n'roll band. Roll over and tell Rolling Stones the news.
