4 stars 3.75 stars! 3 stars doesn't do it justice. 4 stars might be a little too generous. But hey, it's Christmas Eve, I'm feeling generous! Let's go with 4. Besides, that's the last number in the title of this album, and it's how many tracks are on it - 4! Yes, the drumbox and synthes sound a little dated, but the music is . . . good, it's better than average, it's 3.75 out of 5 (4, four those of you holding me to my word). MORRIS PERT turns in a fine, if slightly under utilized perfourmance. The best songs on this album are the first and the 4th! If "Anthem 1984" doesn't make you grieve, because Orwell was right, (even though he wasn't), nothing will. My problem with this song is that it's two short (2:27). Otherwise, it is the perfect ode to lost freedom. The best thing four this album would be four Anthony to re-work, or re-do it using state of the art technology. Hey, if Oldfield can get away with it, why cant Ant. It'd be "1984/2004". Then, it would be an honest-to-goodness "4", if not more.
