3 stars Ammonia Avenue is surely one of the best albums from the Parsons pop period and it features some hits like "Don't Answer Me" and "Prime Time".

Excellent production, the album is quite easy listening anyway it doesn't disappoint people who like Alan Parsons Project style: one of its points of force is for sure the not too intrusive 80's sound, which is undeniable, but not unbereable like on "Vulture Culture" and "Stereotomy". Even the hits I talked about before are very interesting from a melodic point of view, not to mention "Since The Last Goodbye", a typical good Project ballad and the title track "Ammonia Avenue", the closest point to progressive on the record, which features great orchestra arrangement and dramatic vocals.

"Let Me Go Home" and "Dancing On A Highwire" is quite boring, actually, while "Pipeline" is a good instrumental piece with a very particular atmosphere.

Cannot give it 4 stars since it's really rock pop, but it's great rock pop and it deserves 3.5 stars.
