5 stars With the introduction of Steve Hackett and Phil Collins, Genesis made their first true Classic.I used to think Nursery Cryme was merely a dry run for Foxtrot but in retrospect it stands its own ground.Personally I was neve completely sold on "The Musical Box"but "The Fountain Of Salmacis" is an absolute killer of a track and possibly the best track on the album. Here, Tony Banks shows what he can do with the keyboards.Tasteful and dramatic with out the empty bombast of some of his peers."The Return of the Giant Hogweed" is the other epic on the album.Steve Hackett really shines on this track especially the "Dance of the Giant Hogweed" section at the end.The other tracks are excellent as well especially "Seven Stones" wit its gorgeous mellotron led instrumental outro. So overall not as immaculately produced or as sophisticated as its follow up -Foxtrot, this is a truly great album.
