3 stars This is an album that I find a bit disappointing due to the high hopes I had for this album when I purchased it long time ago.

It is obvious that Keith Emerson is a massive influence on this band/one man project led by Antony Kalugin. Karfagen can to an extent be compared to many of Keith's solo work. The other things I notice is the use of electric guitars here. Mostly used to create some jazzy soundscapes while the tangents is painting a grandeur symphonic landscape.

My main gripe with this album is the lack of dynamics and good songs. The missing dynamics I believe is the full artistic control by one mind, one vision and one individual. The result is an album which is nodding along in walking pace. There is some good melody lines in between the mediocre stuff and that is why I am regarding this as a good album. That and the musicianship. But I had expected something better for my hard earned money. But my hopes was perhaps unrealistic. Anyway, this is a good album.
