4 stars This third Tull album belongs to their early bluesy period along with This Was and Stand Up. This seems a more polished record than previous ones, with Martin Barre playing really crunchy licks and riffs all around, especially on With You There To Help Me, Nothing To Say (I love this one!) and To Cry You A Song (one of my favourites tunes from the band). There's not a lot of flute from Ian Anderson, but when he shines he really does it well on With You There To Help Me or Inside. This last song is really special, it has something magical on it and the bass lines are wondrous. The more folky tunes are great too, but I prefer the more edgy side of this album where Barre plays louder.

I think this is the best album from the early trilogy and a great place to discover the bluesy and rocking side of Tull.

Peace!
