5 stars Review #144!

If this isn't just the best pre-80's art pop album out there, I'm not a human. Every song on here (some more than others)has it's own little dose of charm and Gabriel pizazz. There's of course the hits, then the pseudo-hits, but what really get me here are the one or two not-hits. First, 'Not One Of Us' is just super fun, yet lyrically complex enough for a fan of prog to enjoy. But the absolute winner on this album is 'Lead A Normal Life', a somber, yet beautiful synth-led melody that not only takes you through the motions with the music, but tells a depressing story with the lyrics. The extremely short vocal passage hints at someone visiting another at a mental asylum, backed up by mention that they have to eat with spoons since knives aren't allowed there, and of course the title of the song proves this even further. But my obvious obsession with this song aside, this is a truly amazing album, and well worth the 5-star review I'm giving it now. Prog on.
