MARBLES

Has some good tracks. the poppy 'Your Gone' and 'Don't Hurt Yourself' are excellent (if not derivitive) catchy pop music. But most of the album suffers what most of the post FISH Marillion epic songs suffer from, and that is NO emotion. Yeah, songs like 'Ocean Cloud' are beautiful, well recorded, but where is the intensitity, the emotion? Good background music, but compared to the power of something like 'Forgotten Sons', very lacking. H can do it, 'King' is a great example of real power and emotion from Hogarth, but nothing past the great pop tunes grab you on this album. The hard core fans will like it, it's not bad, but this album (or albums depending on which version you get) is not going to get any new fans past the singles.
