3 stars Probably one of the best debut EP's i have heard. Not to say that this is a brilliant piece of work, but you can notice that Tool, at that point, had it's own unique sound and was not just another metal band. This album is very highly rated in terms of raw energy, however it contains little to no sence of progressive rock anywhere in it. while tracks such as "Jerk off" and "Cold and Ugly" have a lot going for them, the rating is brought down by the more simple songs such as "Hush" and "Part of me". while i have given this a 3, anyone who is not a fan of tool should regard this rating as a 2, as it has little to no prog in it.
