3 stars As an arena fan that I've been for the last few years, I've been looking forward this release, Pepper's Ghost. I have all Arena's CDs, and I like their music very much.

However, I feel that the "Metal" influence is too prominent throughout the whole album. I don't have anything against metal music, but it tends to make it sound too repetitive, like most prog metal bands sound these days. In the parts of the songs where this influence is absent, the song gets much better, sounds fresher, and makes room for other things that could make the music grow. All in all, the album is good, the songs are well written, and have the distinctive Arena sound.

I love Arena, I really think they are one of the best comtemporary prog bands, but I really hope they look for other alternatives to grow, to make their music more inventive, challenging and distinctive.
