This being (only)the second Happy the man record ive had the pleasure to encounter...
all i can say is, if the other 5 titles are as GREAT as this...Waaauuuhh!!!!
First of all, this is a live recording of this fabulous Us-band.Recorded at the "Cellar door"
and at "Louie´s rock city" sometime in 1978. And i must say the sound is great, as is the
music. There are gentle soundscapes with terrific outbursts on both guitar(Stan Whitaker)
& Keyboards(The wonderfull Kit Watkins)there are folky-themes ("Open book")and
dreamy and soundtracklike songs with interludes and jawdropping breaks as plenty!!
I cant really pinpoint the style (and why should i?)as they clearly are in a league of their
own....its a fantastic record...oh a by the way, the other 3 musicians are great as well,
As they keep up with the aformentioned frontfigures...just listen to the jazzy"Morning sun". No...singing(which is almost usual with these guys) on this one!!
Any serious progfan should own this!!
