5 stars For me this is their second best album because it is Hawkwind doing what they set out to do. A kind of free form psychadelic space-rock with communal spirit. A style that I feel was to come to full fruition on their second album" X in search of space" and then tailed of bit by bit as the years went on. The Brock/ Turner partnership was at its best on these earliest efforts and the drumming of Terry Ollis was a major factor - much more adventurous and relaxed than Simon King boom boom cha cha one trick style ( a major factor I feel in the constriction of this band into a standard rock band with spacey noises) So here we have a fresh new exciting musical form pre-Silver machine self parody
