4 stars This is basically a truncated version of the Yesyears box set into a nice compact double disc "Best of" collection. I put "Best of" in quotes because it is not what I would put on a Best Of collection for Yes. It really needs the full version of The Gates of Delerium, Awaken, And You and I, and Siberian Khatru to qualify as a true Best Of in my opinion. Still, this compilation does a good job of representing some of the best songs (and parts of songs) from nearly every album up to and including Big Generator. The focus is on the early stuff, which I can't complain about because the early stuff was the best stuff. Highlights makes for a better Greatest Hits album, but I would much sooner introduce someone to Yes with this compilation. Yes was always best at perfecting the prog epic, not at creating a number 1 hit, so it's best to give them a taste of what they were best at. And this one gives them a taste of that, as well as presenting a few of the more popular hits they had over the years.
