5 stars This is a progressive ultimate masterpiece. Presumably the best Faust album - it stands comparisons to Faust Tapes and Rien (those 3 I would consider undisputably as the Faust masterpieces). The most stunnig is the usage of the studio itself as a fully-hired and skilful musician. Although it is not a Faust invention (take for instance Cage, Schaeffer, Zappa, Silver Apples or Byed of the United States of America, not to mention European tradition of the Plannet Gong and Faust sould-brothers in experiments - The Residents), Faust and their producer Uwe Nettlebeck took it far beyond the 'normal'/'usual' limits that rock bands (if we agree that Faust is a rock band...) traditionally explore. The same is for Faust music on the album - psychedelic and hippie-like folk songs are freaked out almost to the limits breaking the usual thinking about the rock albums. Among the German bands of the time, to name only Kraftwerk, Can, Amon Duul II and Cluster, presumably Faust was the most impressive, the most essential and experimenting one, as the pure epitome of Krautrock.

To sum up: a masterpiece, one of the most important albums in the rock music history. In my opinion, it is the best way to introduce young people to the world of Krautrock.
