A TRICK OF THE TAIL

Having listened to a fair range of genesis albums, i consider this to be the best: although i enjoy the very heavy progressive sounds of Gabriels early works, i think the music on trick of the tail is compulsively listenable in a way that albums such as trespass simply are not. The album also allows the listener to enjoy a range of diverse songs, from the distinctly melancholy 'ripples' to the far more whimsical 'Robbery Assault and Battery' and very rapid and exciting 'dance on a volcano'. I honestly cannot fault this album, worthy of 5 stars
