2 stars Cassiopeia isn't a great improvement over the previous album, but it is still better. The atmosphere created on this one long track is still that of a washing machine or microwave afloat on the solar winds in space, but this time around there are small textures added that make this track more bearable. Resonances take a front seat on this album and really up the amount of spaciness to the ambient drones, and giving a darker mood and mysterious feel. The main problem is still the same though - the track is over 70 minutes long and doesn't progress or change mood, textures, or atmosphere at all through the entire run time. Cassiopeia is relaxing, but gets tedious and boring after the first 20 minutes. Still better than Echomachine, but still not great.
