3 stars Is There Water On This Planet? is another dry wasteland of emotionless drones that seem to flow constant on dry winds. While listening to this album, I had to assume that the conceptual matter of this album was based on the possibility of water and life being found on Mars, potentially becoming a new home for us Earth-dwellers in future years.

The sound of this album seems better in production than the previous albums, though that might just be my imagination. The airplane-like drones don't overpower on this album which is great considering that many of the preceding albums were completely dominated by the sounds of furious wind-making machines; instead, here, we have slow winds that flow smoothly over the dry, rusty landscape that echoes of distant resonances and hypnotic magnetic sequences from the poles. The only tracks that are dominated by the jet-engine drones are "Sand is Everywhere", "Burning Sun" and "Drying Sea", but the other two tracks include additional elements that make this album worth listening to, at least for one spin. Still, though, no progression within the tracks and still not nearly enough experimentation or interesting qualities. The progression problem is forgivable on this album, though, since the tracks are shorter (11-16 minutes).

"Is There Water on this Planet?" is another of the Phrozenlight album that gives me hope for better things to come in the future from this artist. This may not be a terrific album, but I always feel good when I can enjoy at least a portion of any album by Phrozenlight.
