1 stars The second incarnation of Faithful Breath and nothing whatsoever from Mk I has returned.

This is the first album of their Mk II and it is a pure heavy metal album. Or make that heavy metal with a few subtle blues connotations. I see Accept has been mentioned as a reference. Accept, a band I respect, were miles more heavy - and better - than Faithful Breath on this album. The lyrics is, too put it mildly, primitive. Any five years old kid could had written better lyrics than those featured on this album. Unfortunate for me and other listeners, the vocals is pretty much in the foreground of the mix and the lyrics is crystal clear. All of them. Oh dear.

I have heard some bad albums during my far too many reviews in ProgArchives. If we exclude the vacuum cleaner sounding demos recorded in someone's bedroom, this album has got itself a place on the five worst albums I have ever had the misfortune to listen to.

The lyrics has been mentioned. The music is horrible and without any redeeming feature. It is straight forward generic heavy metal of the worst kind. No more, no less. It is the kind of music both Spinal Tap and Bad News made funny. The exception is that Faitful Breath probably was dead serious on this album. Which makes me wonder what they were thinking at that time.

This is an utterly horrible album with no redeeming feature whatsoever.

1 star (too generous)
