4 stars A Manual Dexterity: Soundtrack Volume One, the first album to be composed and recorded after Omar, Cedric and co. abandoned At the Drive In, and decided to explore territories of music which would allow their talent and creativeness to reach its full glory. This is a good start of Omar's solo career, and is meant to be as a first part of a soundtrack for movie that would be made in future. It is very interesting album, as Omar presents huge range of guitar sounds, to combine pleasant atmosphere with some sound effects done in intelligent manner. I appreciate his use of noise in track Sensory Decay Part II, or vocals of his father in cool latino song Deus Ex Machina. Note that the album is quite different from The Mars Volta records, and somehow seems more out of this planet.
