The debut from this Danish post rock band.

Efterklang has got a good name in the post rock/shoegaze scene. They set out ther stall with this album lenght EP. The emphasis is on creating melancholic moods with bursts of energetic guitars underpinned by melancholic piano, sound samples and keyboards. That and some low tuned female and male vocals. The music ebbs and flows like an ocean.

The result is a very typical post rock, it has to be said. But it is also a very effective mix which hits home. Even in homes not used to post rock. This is a well rounded good EP which I really like. But just in small dosages and half an hour with this is sufficient for me. Good stuff, though.
