THE LAMB LIES DOWN ON BROADWAY

Often you think this album has got duff tracks on it so how is it possible to rate it 5 stars. Well as with In the Court of The Crimson King (which contained the indulgent Moonchild) the answer has to be that the peaks on such albums represent some of the best prog rock ever made. Here for example we have In the Cage, Carpet Crawlers, Counting out Time, Back in NYC etc . This allows you to excuse the odd weakpoint. Yes Gabriel is dominant here but I dont think that spoils the album to a significant extent. Its 1974 prog was ki ng and Genesis were top of the pile.
