4 stars The second in a string of classic albums from Can, Ege Bamyasi is the perfect transition between the freak out improvs of Tago Mago and the grooving soundscapes of Future Days. As soon as the pulse is established it grabs hold of you and doesnt let go until the end of the classic track "Spoon". Those island breezes soon to be felt on future albums is touched upon heavily on"One More Night" with that typical Can relentless groove carrying everything off to lofty heights. The next track "Vitamin C" has the rhythm section really kicking into high gear churning out such tight grooves you will not be able to stop your body from moving. Throw in some great psych ambient stuff and you are brought to the closer "Spoon" which might be the peak of this infectiously rhythmic and hypnotizing classic Can offering. Check it out.
