3 stars This single includes three tracks from Direct, which is up to its name, ie. his most direct album. By the way I enjoy that album quite a lot even if it's not generally considered as a highlight in his career. It is a "poppy" album, most of the compositions could work as songs too. But I wouldn't compare their structures to JON & VANGELIS songs. They are well crafted synth instrumentals that are not missing another level such as lyrics & vocals, but instead work just fine as they are. (There's a track 'Hosianna' with wordless female voice.) And yes, while I'm at the topic, there's a track - included in this single too - that contains a dramatic talking section, which doesn't turn it into a song however. 'Intergalactic Radio Station' is a track of grandiose nature, featuring a heavy slow-tempo beat but also a good deal of progressivity. I don't know whose voice it is, not Vangelis anyway. Sounds like some actor whose name I now forget.

The other non-title track is 'Metallic Rain', one of the best tracks of Direct. It has a strong atmosphere as it keeps shifting between delicate, melodious sections and more powerful, percussive "choruses", so to speak. Very emotional without being sentimental. The steady- beat 'Will Of The Wind' is the least proggy and the most straight-forward in structure, which is not to say it's poor at all. Its choice of being the single (title) track is quite understandable. It sounds very nice, the wind-like main melody is reminding of pan flute. Would fit well into a TV ad (wouldn't be the first time his music is used in that circumstance...).

A pretty good CD-single, if not by its cover. The bad computer drawing is the same as on Direct itself.
