SELLING ENGLAND BY THE POUND

There isn't much to say about this album that hasn't already been said... but I think this deserves a full 5 stars, and I'm also glad to see it finally beating out Close to the Edge! Selling England By the Pound is, in my opinion, not only one of the best prog albums out there, but also one of the best rock albums in general. It is so well rounded, and rich in emotion. The power of the Moonlit Knight, the symphonic Firth of Fifth... the very listenable I Know What You Like, and the balladry of More Fool Me... and then there's the entire 2nd half! The tracks Epping Forest/After The Ordeal/Cinema Show/Aisle of Plenty blend together into a buffet of musical bliss, reprising the opening melody as the album comes to a close. There's something on this album for everyone. I don't know if there is any one single perfect album, but this one gets as close to that as I can think of.
