GREATEST HITS LIVE (KANSAS)

This is the same show as the King Biscuit Flower Hour release. Exact same except for the packaging. Doesn't it piss you off when they do this ? I'm enough of a music geek to know what is happening, but many people have undoubtedly bought this thinking they were getting something different. I was tempted to give this one star juts because of this deceptive packaging. But it ain't the band's fault; they signed away these rights years ago. That said, this is a fine show from an atypical lineup of the band...the late's 80s version without founder Kerry Livgren or Robbie Steinhardt on violin, but with mega-guitarist Steve Morse ( now a member of the revitalized Deep Purple ). I happen to like this lineup and the two ( sadly ) commercial flop discs they released on MCA, but those who were expect the "Leftoverture" band may be disappointed at this more straight forward rock band approach to the material. I think it's great. You may not.
