CAPTAIN BEYOND

Captain Beyond are a blues-rooted band, playing heavy riffs with a power and spirit at the same time. This is a very good work, not properly a progressive album, because very near to a Hard'n'Blues (Mountain, Led Zeppelin or ZZ Top), but also near to Allman Brothers Band and the whole southern rock sound (this album is dedicated to the memory of Duane Allman....so you can immagine). Nice tracks, great guitar riffs ("mesmerization eclypse", "raging river of fear"), and also quite good songs: "I can't feel nothing", aggressive and powerful, with a fast and precise drum work..Not bad, not essential for a progressive collector, but a very good album. Unfortunately it lasts only 35 minutes... :-(
