SECRET WORLD LIVE

I remember seeing the special on PBS back in the 1990's when this concert first aired, and was nothing short of astonished. I finally found the CD release of the live concert a few years ago, and it has become one of my favorite live albums of all time. Many of the live versions of his tracks, whether from Us or other albums, actually surpass the studio versions. "Shaking the Tree" was the standout track over the studio version. Paula Cole and Gabriel's voice are perfect together. Although she is not given much credit for making the album what it is, she is largely responsible for its strong vocals. The band is completely in sync throughout the album, and crowd noise is minimal. Even if you're not a huge Peter Gabriel fan, "Secret World Live", in CD or DVD form is a must have.
