Yes, this is ugly, and so is life. The band plays furiously, and leaves the mutilated bodies of their originally beautiful songs in front of us. I think this is a very interesting live recording. There are songs from Hammill`s solo albums as well as from VDG/VDGG albums. "Still life" and "Mirror images" are both better here than in studio albums. "Last frame" and "Nadir`s big chance" work very well, but the rest of the album is too much for even me, a fanatic VDGG fan. Try this, if you dare. It is very difficult to rate this record, certainly it`s not average.
