3 stars Up is the last Gabriel studio release so far. It is close to Gabriel's studio release "so". Again it's a mixture of ambient, pop and rock. Pretty simple composition and catchy tunes are the ingredients of an album which doesn't have so many highlights with the huge exception of the song "Sky blue". This is a wonderful song but the vocals from the blind boy from Alabama just makes it one of Gabriel's solo career most amazing songs. You have to watch Gabriel's DVD, "Growing Up Live" to understand what I mean.

It's one of the cds you can put when you invite people home for dinner since the music is atmospheric with powerful moments at times, emotional and not really demanding. It's a pleasant listen. However it's not essential. It may seem boring or too simple to many prog fans.
