2 stars What do I think of this album - well - "Quiz Kid" - starts off in a kind of a 60's pop music way before it fleshes out a bit. It's a take on the television quiz show thing with the usual Anderson sarcasm and humor. "Crazed Institution" - a sarcastic lyrical take on stardom - the music itself is just ok for me. "Salamander" - a folky acoustic rock track which is pretty good. "Taxi Grab" - a straight out rocker about if you can't find a taxi grab one anyway if the opportunity arises. Nothing profound here but pleasant. "From a Dead Beat to an old Greaser" - kind of reminds me of the BG's 1st of May - Tull does pure pop music - not too bad though. "Bad-eyed and Loveless" - a bit of bluesy quirky fluff. I love the lyrics. "Big Dipper" - Tull enter Zappa territory? Another quirky rocking number. "Too old to Rock 'n' Roll : Too young to Die" - starts off like a rock band playing Chopin although it quickly turns into a slow rocker. "Pied Piper" - another quirky Anderson humor track - by this time I'm almost ready to take the album off in that although I love Anderson humor it's real music that I want to hear. "The Chequered Flag" - at this point I'm getting bored out of my skull but in order to complete this I have to continue - why, oh why? "A small Cigar" - I laugh out loud at this track. Did the Monty Python crowd write the lyrics here? "Strip Cartoon" - a pleasant enough track.

I can't say that I like this album at all. Jethro Tull does stand up comedy? or Jethro Tull goes pop? The whole thing is just way too fluffy for me. This was planned to be a Rock Opera as I have it but I wouldn't have liked it as such either. I apologise to those who do enjoy the album out there but to me it's a 2 star offering.
