4 stars This record must be in our collection due to the quality of the music, the emotional elements of it,the ample variety of sounds and songs, and the quality and balance of the recording. This album is the perfect mix of peaceful and soft rythms with passionate and savage ones;this album is an example of natural music and non technological special effects,;the sounds are the same you will perceive in a concert. The singer has a great and expressive voice that is easily adaptable to all the songs which are reflections of the human nature, they are emotionally intense. The violins are a mix of intense and passionate sounds as well as soft and melancholic ones, like in DUST IN THE WIND in this the violin always present features soft and melancholic and the introspective letter lead us to think about who we are and where we go.The guitars are played brilliantly ,impetuos when required, but at the same time they blend perfectly with the other instruments never displacing them.In this album the music of KANSAS is easy to hear without being simple in structure, harmony or melody. It absorbs the European symphonic prog and blends it with northamerican rock,so the music becomes prog with it also is from the heart of USA,that is why in this record, talent is still more important than commerce being an essential album of the KANSAS band therefore i will give it four stars.
