When you think 1970-73 Genesis, you inevitably think pastoral England long gone - it's a very nostalgic thing. SELLING ENGLAND is a superb slice of English whimsy, but it's very powerful too, with some of the band's finest ensemble playing featured. THE CINEMA SHOW/AISLE OF PLENTY is one of the most beautiful and uplifting pieces Genesis ever recorded, and the quality of production throughout is exemplary. Sadly underrated, this album is one of th Charterhouse boys' best. Forget ABACAB, INVISIBLE TOUCH et al - Genesis were at their very best in the era of three-day weeks and power cuts.
