2 stars Just another compilation.

When you love are a die-hard fan of a band you have the will of collecting as much stuff of theirs as you can, even some things that are not necessary or even useless, and though I am not the biggest collector, I can say I have a nice amount of Pink Floyd related items, including this "Best of Pink Floyd" album. And this is not the first nor second nor third best of album of theirs, there are several of these kind previously released (Echoes, maybe the better known) so I honestly cannot find a true value of these kind of actions.

Anyway, I found it cheap and wanted to increase my CD collection, so I bought it. I like the package and even the title "A Foot in the Door", but the compilation is just ok. I assume this is more aimed for newbies or people who only know their most famous tunes, so if you are one of them, this CD might be a nice introduction for you. In the other hand, if you already know their catalogue and like their music, then you will feel this is just a waste of time and money, because honestly there is no sense in releasing one more hits CD when the band is already popular and better known for their albums as a whole.

Well, here you will find 16 songs taken from all the Floyd eras, I mean, you will find the Barrett one with "See Emily Play", the classic one with tracks such as "Time"; "Shine on You Crazy Diamond" or "Hey You", and the Gilmour one with "Learning to Fly" or "High Hopes", so if you want a mixture of hits, this could be for you. Of course I love almost all the songs here, but I find it useless to create this compilation album, that is why my final grade will be two stars.

Enjoy it!
