4 stars 01-OSC-Synth1x6 is a single drone characterized by a constantly shifting metallic resonance, intermittent electronic siren-song in the background, a calming atmosphere of light cosmic breeze, all created with the Synth1 program on 6 different layered presets. This album at first didn't impress me too much, but then I started to understand it for what it is - this is a steady electronic drift through the darkest ends of our universe with the natural sounds of tectonic-shifting inside of distant planets sending sonorities throughout the cosmic vastness. There isn't much in the way of extraterrestrial communications or any additions of colorful textures, but the bleakness and emptiness of this single 44-minute track does wonders for a stressful mind craving for an empty canvas to paint on the day's problems.
