3 stars This live show from Marillion - released on CD for the first time in 2011 - documents a performance of the complete Afraid of Sunlight album in the Friday Night Live spot at the 2003 Marillion weekend. Continuing the tradition established at the previous weekend of playing a full album on the Friday night (the album in question in 2002 was, of course, Brave, as can be heard on Brave Live 2002), the band do a decent job of bringing the album to life onstage, with some performances actually outshining the original album versions - Mark Kelly, for instance, has a lot more fun on the keyboards during Cannibal Surf Babe, which is a substantial improvement to that song.

The set list is rounded off with two fun little encores. Easter, of course, is a live staple of Marillion's, whilst Faith is actually a song which wouldn't see a studio release until 2007's Somewhere Else - evidently it was cooked up during the Marbles writing sessions but was held back as not quite fitting the overall scheme of the double album. Still, the main meat here is the Afraid of Sunlight album itself - but whenever I try to listen to this I find myself realising that I might as well just listen to the studio album instead.
