2 stars This album is an early exploration in modular synth. It has been recorded live (in the "German Institute", London, Spring 1972) but not trace of public effervescence. It was originally issued from Schnitzler's old tape recordings. Consequently it's really weird, unconventional with many improvised, unfocused effects. The electronic material is reduced to its minimum, just one machine (probably a miniMoog). The result can be perceived as a convinced essay in electronic experimentation but there's absolutely no melodies, harmonies, tonalities...it's just a collection of "noisy" electronic motifs built in a rather confusion and based on a linear process: the two tracks have no structure, seem to be endless, pointless and always made around the same range of sounds. An interesting document for original Schnitzler's fans but in order to make an excursion in a sonic electronic musical creation just goes on the classic "Ballet Statique".
