3 stars After a very long hiatus (ten years), this Brazilian band came back with a fresh, dynamic album.

Their music is somewhat out of time: psychedelic rock was not really in the mood in late eighties while they released "Em Toda Parte". This one, is more on the pop side ("Outro Lado") even though the band digs hard again in their psyche roots ("Total Silencio" and the title track).

This album is quite long (at least according "Violeta De Outono" standards. This means that, at times, some filler are present (like the instrumental "Lágrimas De Dragão"). It is upbeat and features great drumming, but it is too repetitive and too long.

One of my fave is the very much "Airplane" ("Volunteers" period) "Espelhos Planos". Melodic but rocking: it provides a great retro feel.

After having covered Floyd a couple of times already ("Echoes" and "Interstellar Overdrive"), the band offers their version of "Astronomy Domine": it is presented in a short approach which is more in line with the studio album than the great "Ummagumma" version.

Three stars.
